What's the Goss! Physio Clinical Tools - let's grow it together. |
Formerly known as the Physio Library the Physio Clinical Tools section of our forum is an informative collection of articles
that are today hosted on our forum in various sections. These include but are not limited to: Research Data / Critical
Reviews, Medical Images, Practitioner Prompts, Assessment Forms, Clinical Guidelines, Interest Articles, Disease Profiles,
Outcome Measures, Policy and Research Tools | Methods.
Right now we would like to drive the expansion of this section of our site using the power of our community. Imagine the
resource we would have if even half of our 40,000 members added just one article of relevance to our profession. Currently we
have around 250 articles.
We have decided that your assistance should be thanked and that's why we've decided to send a free copy of sportEX medicine
magazine to each forum member whose articles are approved for inclusion on the site. All you need to do is upload them to the
following link by posting a reply to the post below and attaching the file using the attachment button. If successful we'll
send you an email asking for your address to post the magazine to.

| Physio BLOG - Why are physio's rarely found in the position of hospital director? |
Hi All, I have just found this feature on the forum and am checking it out. I would perhaps like to discuss a blog about why physio's are rarely if ever becoming hospital directors when nurses seem to often get to that role. In fact I just had a patient who is looking for a director for a new hospital and he said that he wants someone with a nursing background. I challenged him as to why. And more than the understanding of the complexity of keeping an army of nurses under control I think perhaps they also save some money by getting more senior nurses into these roles. Any comments?

| oxygen therapy in enchancing the recovery of muscle fatigue |
Dear All, I am looking for some literatures or any information in this topic. I have done a
search on the e-database but I
cannot find anything which is highly related. Most of the research was done on the effect of hyperbaric O2 on the recovery
of injured soft tissue. I need some information on the non-hyperbaric O2 and its
effectiveness on the recovery of muscle
fatigue, would someone can help me? Many thanks

| Ankle popping. |
Hi. I'm only 14, and i am experiencing some ankle problems in my right ankle.
It just randomly clicks/pops when I move it around, and i the only injuries it has ever obtained is a twisted ankle. There is
no pain apart from when it clicks, but there is no pain after or before then. Would anybody be able to give me some advice to
get rid of the clicking, or what the problem may be?
Thanks, Alex

| The How and When of Paediatric Physiotherapy |
Hello, I'm considering applying to a physiotherapy program in Ontario. But after looking at the various programs offered at
the University of Toronto and McMaster, Queens etc. it seems very much geared towards musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
How/when do you get into the specifics about paediatric physiotherapy?
Thanks in advance

| Manual muscle test assessment |
Hi, i just want to know if there's an effective way distinguishing grade 4 and 5 for manual muscle testing. Many books
differentiate these two grades by saying max resistance for grade 5 and mod resistance for grade 4, but the amount of
resistance may vary widely for different therapist, hence leading to unreliability of the assessment. Through your
experiences, does anyone know if there's a better way to distinguish them?

New Physiotherapy Education Titles from Clinics In Motion! |
| The authors provide a logical step-by-step approach to the physical tests that might be carried out for each region of the
body. Excellent photography and clear verbal descriptions provide clear guidance on how the physical tests are performed.
Examination is followed by a variety of treatment techniques for each region and again these are clearly demonstrated and
explained. There is some clinical reasoning introduced in the form of précised case studies. The main subjective and physical
findings of a patient are presented by the clinician; this is followed by a demonstration of a treatment technique and the
rationale for its use is given by the treating clinician. Deciding on a treatment technique based on the examination
findings, is a particular challenge for novice physiotherapists and so this section is likely to be particularly helpful for
students. There are, in addition, some helpful top tips and x rays for each region. Buy Now » |
